Lolo is part of the splash series, "Mad Splashes", created especially for Madagascar. Each piece of the series represents an element – Earth, Water, Air, Wood – and is inspired by a Malagasy treasure.
Lolo which means butterfly in Malagasy, represents the AIR element. This painting was inspired by the sunsets of the Great Island, which are the most breathtaking sunsets I have ever seen. The silhouette, a continuous drawing, is a butterfly, magnificent, winged creatures one can admire anywhere on the island. |
